to create a painted collage of both classic and invented
visual symbols of maternity, femininity and sexuality.
My hope was to present an array of cryptic objects
and textures, which would invite personal interpretation
from the viewer. I also wanted to maintain a spirit
of duality in the piece, balancing beauty and unease,
light and dark, the natural and the manufactured.”
