Maggiori informazioni
Daniel B Dias’ “A Peace Turned Violent” is a striking, disquieting piece depicting a woman sitting by an open window while the figures outside, and the silhouette of an inside figure, struggle to be visible. Privacy has vacated from this painting, leaving behind the raw feeling of exposure and conception. The curtain between the world of the interior and the exterior has been drawn back, the window not only revealing the insiders to the outsiders, but also there’s a sense of inner reflection as a figure on the inside gazing at themselves through the same window. Through his meticulously constructed details, Dias harnesses his cross-cultural identity to leave his viewers with a poignant piece that explores deeper contradictory psychological feelings of what it is like to exist in a world where the boundaries between private and universal lives can become invisible in an instant.
