Maggiori informazioni

Alex Face, the internationally acclaimed Thai street artist and painter, has captivated audiences worldwide with his distinctive style that merges the immediacy of graffiti with the refined technique of classical painting. Renowned for his three-eyed child character, inspired by his daughter Mardi and often depicted in a ragged rabbit suit, Alex Face’s art transcends boundaries, appearing on walls, canvases, and monumental bronze sculptures alike.

In his evocative series "Neon and Fire Vanitas," Alex Face reimagines the Dutch Golden Age still life tradition, blending it seamlessly with the urgency and unpredictability of contemporary life. White-Hot Purple—a striking piece from the series—highlights the artist's ability to juxtapose historical symbolism with a cutting-edge visual language while weaving in themes of environmental awareness and fragility. Drawing inspiration from the famed "Monument of Hope" exhibition, the piece offers a vibrant bouquet that simultaneously celebrates the splendor of nature and warns of its precarious state in the face of modern excess.

With masterful precision, Alex Face employs oil paint, acrylics, and spray cans to create luminous compositions that evoke both timeless beauty and the frenetic energy of today. The bouquet, teeming with tulips, peonies, and other delicate blooms, becomes a symbol of life's fleeting nature—a modern-day Vanitas reminding us of the impermanence of existence. Neon arcs of purple light illuminate the arrangement, bridging the gap between the historic and the digital age, while small flames consuming the edges of shells evoke an unsettling tension between destruction and renewal. This imagery subtly reflects the environmental crises threatening the natural world, encouraging viewers to ponder humanity's impact on the delicate balance of life.

Through White-Hot Purple, Alex Face transcends homage to traditional still life, crafting a poignant dialogue on the intersections of history, modernity, and the environment. The work resonates with a profound awareness of the fragility of life—both human and ecological—while offering a space for contemplation and a call to action. As the artist himself describes, the series captures "the bitter beauty of chaos in-between," urging us to reflect on the precarious beauty of our world and our shared responsibility to preserve it.
