Lying in a bed of soft, fragile flowers, "Evening Songs of Crickets" by Elen Bezhen gently comes forth as a quiet moment of rest and connection. The cold flowers reach towards the warmth of the figure, wrapping themselves around in a soft hug. The figure drifts into a deep sleep, seeming to at once to be one with the flowers and also apart, the blooming bright flora on their garments suggesting the memory of a summer day. Bezhen creates a moment of serenity and comfort, illustrating the complex connections between humans and nature, showing its intricacies and reflecting on its soul. One needs only to gaze for a moment before they can hear the crickets hiding amongst the brush, playing their nocturnal lullaby until dawn.
