"Le parfum est la forme la plus intense du souvenir."
— Jean-Paul Guerlain
Featuring works by Fuco Ueda, Zoe Byland, Masakatsu Sashie, Chizu Wada, John Brophy, Soslan Sosiev, Liz Flores, Saner, Ciou, Kazuki Takamatsu, Mattia Barbalaco, Matteo Casali, Jesus Aguado, Kana Tsumura, Katie Gamb, and Maruyama Junna, La Matière du Rêve explores the dream as a space where memory, imagination and emotion merge into poetic visual worlds.
Bringing together an international group of artists, the exhibition investigates dreams not simply as images, but as living experiences shaped by sensation, memory and transformation. Across painting, drawing and sculpture, the works navigate the fluid boundaries between reality and fantasy, revealing landscapes of longing, nostalgia, wonder and desire.
Inspired by the writings of André Breton, Gaston Bachelard and Marcel Proust, La Matière du Rêve considers dreams as one of humanity's last spaces of creative freedom, a place where memories resurface, emotions take form, and the invisible becomes visible.
Opening in London on 9 July 2026, this exhibition marks the first chapter of a two-part curatorial project exploring the rich intersections between dreaming, perception and the imagination.
